Erik ten Hag's debut campaign at Manchester United has been considered a qualified success by most in football.
The Old Trafford chief guided his side to the Carabao Cup in February while the Reds are closing in on a top-four place and, with it, Champions League football for next season. United could still lift the FA Cup with a final against Manchester City to come next month.
And while Ten Hag's side remain a work in progress, there is certainly cause for optimism. His efforts have helped instil an identity and belief back into the club and for that he deserves credit.

Jamie Carragher, though, seemingly does not rank Ten Hag's achievements with United this season along the likes of Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui's and Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil's
Writing on Twitter after Brighton's 3-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday, Carragher said: "What a performance from Brighton yet again today, their manager could be Manager of the Season. Has there ever been so many candidates for that award?! Pep, Arteta, Howe, De Zerbi, Emery, Frank, O'Neil, Silva, Lopetegui."
Pep Guardiola is on the brink of a fifth title in six seasons with City, after reining in Mikel Arteta's Arsenal. Eddie Howe is on the brink of securing a top-four finish for Newcastle, while Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton are still an outside bet for Champions League qualification.
Unai Emery has transformed Aston Villa after their dreadful start to the season, while Thomas Frank's Brentford and Marco Silva's Fulham are both set for top-10 finishes. O'Neil and Lopetegui, meanwhile, steered Bournemouth and Wolves respectively to Premier League safety.
