Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hit out at comments made in an interview involving Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The future of the Portuguese international has been the subject of intense debate ever since he re-signed for the club in the summer of 2021. Ronaldo has started just four Premier League matches this term, and has often been dropped by manager Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo has given an interview with Piers Morgan for Talk TV, where he accuses the club of “betraying” him and says he has “no respect” for Ten Hag. Now Carragher has criticised those comments from the Man United striker.

Carragher has taken to Twitter to slam Ronaldo for his comments about Ten Hag. The former Liverpool defender went on to aim a dig at three former Man United players.
“Ronaldo ‘I don’t respect the manager’. Ronaldo under Erik ten Hag: Announced he wanted to leave, refused to come on as a substitute, walked off the bench and left before the game had finished.
“99% of United fans will be on the side of Ten Hag, which shows how badly Ronaldo has handled this."
Carragher added in a separate tweet: “The 1% will be Rio (Ferdinand), Roy (Keane) & Patrice (Evra)….”
