Jamie Carragher called Rio Ferdinand a 'clown' for his opinion on a controversial decision during Inter Milan's 2-0 win over rivals AC Milan in the Champions League semi-final.
Inter were 2-0 up after just 11 minutes, but Simone Inzaghi's side were awarded a penalty after Simon Kjaer appeared to have brought down Lautaro Martinez. VAR told referee Jesus Gil to review his original decision and the penalty was revoked.
Liverpool legend Carragher was working on CBS Sports on Wednesday night and he claimed the correct decision had been made by referee Gil after he overturned the penalty.

Carragher said of the decision on CBS Sports: "I think anyone out there who's watching the replay and seen what VAR do and still believe that is a penalty, they must be a clown."
Ex-Manchester United defender Ferdinand was working alongside Steven Gerrard on BT Sport at the San Siro as both claimed the penalty should have been awarded.
Carragher defended his former Liverpool captain Gerrard by stating an attacking player is entitled to that view, but was adamant ex-defenders know that it was not a penalty.
"[Gerrard's] an attacking player, isn't he?" Carragher said. "He was liable a little bit now and again to go down himself under a little bit of contact, always contact. I can understand where he's coming from. But players in my position, who are defenders, other defenders, English defenders who were commentating on the game.
"I can understand attackers thinking it's a penalty but Stevie was an attacking player wasn't he and maybe felt there was a little bit of contact. But as a defender, we've got to try and stick together haven't we. I just felt some people were getting a little bit carried away thinking it was a certain penalty."
Micah Richards pushed Carragher to call out the pundits he was talking about. The former Manchester City star demanded: "Name names!" Carragher responded: "Rio Ferdinand. I'm happy to call him a clown."
Henry was left stunned by Carragher's statement as he covered his face with his notes.
