Jamie Carragher has paid tribute to Graeme Souness after the latter's departure from Sky Sports was this evening confirmed.
Appearing emotional as news of his exit from the broadcasting company was confirmed on-air by main presenter Kelly Cates, Souness took the time to thank his colleagues for the memories created during his lengthy spell as a Sky analyst.
A montage of his best bits as a pundit were played after Liverpool's dramatic 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, with the Scot confirming his decision to take a step away before being congratulated for his service by Jamie Redknapp.

Following in the footsteps of Redknapp, Carragher took to Twitter to praise the Liverpool great. "Graeme Souness was one of the greatest players this country has ever seen, the same goes for him as a pundit! I’ve never seen anyone else have his authority in a studio, you’ll be missed Souey," tweeted the ex-Reds centre-back.
Commenting on Souness' departure, Sky Sports' director of football Gary Hughes said: "We will miss Graeme's no-nonsense approach in the studio - matched only by his playing style. The insight and winning mentality he brought to our viewers as a result of his years' of experience as both a player and a manager has been invaluable to our coverage. We wish him all the best for the future."
