Jamie Carragher sends Newcastle message as all Liverpool fans say same thing about Fabio Carvalho winner

Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool's late winner against Newcastle was "karma" for all of the time wasting Eddie Howe's side did in the match at Anfield.

Newcastle's game plan was apparent from very early on in the match and the Anfield crowd, along with Jurgen Klopp, grew increasingly frustrated at the number of stoppages in the game as Liverpool chased goals.

The Magpies' plan backfired as Fabio Carvalho smashed in the goal that put the Reds 2-1 in front in the 98th minute after just five minutes of time was initially added on by referee Andre Marriner.

Newcastle took the lead in the first half through record signing Alexander Isak, but Roberto Firmino scored his third goal in two games to equalise in the second half.

Howe's side were happy to settle for the point, but Carvalho had other ideas as he smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range.

Carragher took to Twitter to make his feelings known about Newcastle's time wasting: "That’s Karma that for all the time wasting! Harvey Elliott outstanding & brilliant cameo again from Carvalho!! #LIVNEW"

Liverpool fans also took to their social media accounts to make fun of Newcastle after their time wasting tactics backfired.

"You know what, fair play to the referee for actually adding the time on," said one fan.

Another Liverpool fan was over the moon with Carvalho's late goal: "Time wasting eh? @NUFC "

Meanwhile, Manchester United fan Mark Goldbridge expressed his anger at the referee not sticking to the five minutes added: "Over 97 minutes and Liverpool score. Absolute disgrace by the ref. Only 5 were meant to be added. Disgusting."
