Jamie Carragher believes Erling Haaland's arrival will bolster Manchester City's Champions League hopes but doesn't see it as "a forgone conclusion" that they claim the quadruple.
The forward has headed to the Ethiad after several hugely prolific years with Borussia Dortmund, where he has continued to see his stock rise. Haaland is among the hottest properties in football and City's capture is a major coup and bolsters an already champion side.
Pep Guardiola's team had played without a No 9 for the best part of two seasons and whilst it hasn't hampered their ambitions, there have been times where a natural finisher may have proved the difference. That said, Carragher isn't convinced that they will now go on a winning rampage.
Instead the former Liverpool man has cited how Haaland may disrupt the rhythm within the team and expects them to amass a similar amount of points to recent years. He told Sky Sports : "They have so many players now who don't play through the middle. They keep the ball so well and they control the game so well. Maybe they will lose a little bit of that.
"So, I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that means City are going to win everything. They have a great team and a great manager, and I actually think Haaland coming in won't make that much of a difference in terms of how many points they get. They always get in the mid-90s for points anyway, which is a remarkable feat.
"He may have been brought in just to make that difference in those games where they just fell short, maybe more in the Champions League than the Premier League actually."

Haaland scored 86 times in 89 outings whilst with the Bundesliga outfit and took quickly to the Champions League, scoring at a sensational rate. City claimed the Premier League title for a fourth time in five years last term as their domestic dominance continued.
They beat a Liverpool side who had quadruple ambitions of their own until the final week of the season. Haaland is confident he can further his career under his new coach and backed himself to find the net with regularity. He told the club's website : “I think I can develop a lot under Pep and in this Club. I think I can get better on a lot of things and hopefully I can score a lot of (goals). I have spoken a little bit with him. We are both looking forward to working together.”
