Jamie Carragher pinpoints hilarious Antonio Rudiger moment that perfectly describes Chelsea star

Chelsea made it five wins in succession yesterday afternoon after defeating Newcastle United by one goal to nil. The game appeared to be heading for a draw before Kai Havertz's sublime first touch and finish in the 89th minute following Jorginho's exquisite forward lofted pass, which ensured that all three points remained in west London.

The victory means that Thomas Tuchel's men have now managed to pick up five wins in succession and are in a very strong position to secure Champions League football next season. During the game, there was a moment that pundit Jamie Carragher found rather amusing, involving Antonio Rudiger and new Magpies signing Bruno Guimaraes.

In the second half, the German star was surging forward with the ball, before Newcastle’s January acquisition stopped him in his traps by tackling the ball off him, before being surrounded by Chelsea teammates. This allowed the 6ft 3ins defender to recover and shoulder barge Guimaraes to the floor with clear aggression and intent, which Carragher thought was typically Rudiger.

"That’s Rudiger in a nutshell," Carragher said on Sky Sports. "Coming out running with the ball, trying to cause trouble and open the opposition up.

"He loses the ball, then somebody is getting it. This time it was Guimaraes.”

Rudiger is out of contract this summer and as it stands doesn't look likely to commit his long term future at Stamford Bridge. But in the meantime, the former Roma star will hope he can continue to contribute from now till the end of the season, with the Blues' next game taking place on Wednesday night against LOSC Lille in the Champions League round of 16-second leg.
