Jamie Carragher did not think Graham Potter's system worked well in his opening game as Chelsea head coach.
The Blues were held 1-1 by FC Salzburg in Potter's first match since replacing Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea boss. Raheem Sterling handed the hosts the lead in the second-half at Stamford Bridge but the visitors levelled the game through Noah Okafor with 15 minutes remaining.
It comes as a real blow for Chelsea, who now have just one point from their first two Champions League group matches after losing to Dinamo Zagreb last week. It was never going to be something that happened overnight with Potter, but Carragher wasn't too impressed with the way the new head coach set his team up on Wednesday evening.

"Not particularly," Carragher replied when asked on CBS Sports Golazo if he felt Potter's formation worked on Wednesday. "They didn't win the game, they didn't create an awful lot of chances, but that's the way Brighton set up with Graham Potter. Any manager who comes in is going to put his own stamp on it, his own system."
After the game, Potter admitted he was frustrated to get just a point from the match. He was, however, delighted with how the team played on the night.
"We're frustrated with just the one point," the Chelsea head coach told reporters. "I thought the application of the players and the attitude of the players was fantastic, and I really enjoyed how they went about their work against a good opponent, an opponent that make it difficult for you. They attack quickly and defend well.
"I thought in the first-half, we got Raheem into some good one-vs-one situations and created some opportunities, but they got some blocks in. We scored a good goal, and in the period we didn't control it as well as we had, we concede which is disappointing, but it can happen at this level.
"And then our response was really good. Their keeper has made a couple of saves, and we needed that second goal, but it didn't come. We're disappointed with one point."
For Chelsea, their next match isn't until the first weekend of October when they take on Crystal Palace. It gives Potter a bit of time to work with his players, albeit the majority of the squad will be jetting off on international duty with their respective countries.
