Jamie Carragher leaves Micah Richards in hysterics with Todd Boehly jibe after Chelsea loss

Jamie Carragher let his hair down on TV duty when covering Chelsea's Champions League first leg against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. The pundit, who has been consistently critical of Todd Boehly's strategy, took the chance to have another swipe at the American.

With Boehly and Behdad Eghbahli both at the game, watching on in typically animated fashion in the stands at the Signal Iduna Park, the co-owners were there to see an improved performance without much tangible reward.

Chelsea fell to another defeat in Germany despite a much-improved display going forward. Had Joao Felix but away one of his two glaring first half chances then the narrative after the game may well have been extremely different.

As it happened though there was no such output from the Portugal forward and the second half brought only more spurned chances. It left Boehly with his head in his hands laughing in disbelief at points, such was the nature of the play leading up to putting the ball in the net.

Karim Adeyemi's solo strike was the deciding moment in the game and has now set up an exciting second leg. Carragher couldn't resist another jibe at the end though. When faced with looking at the post-match celebrations in front of the famous yellow wall he took a dig at Boehly, saying, "It's interesting you say that I mean the whole squad's there. It's just come through on social media, Todd Boehly's put in a bid for the whole squad of Dortmund!"

Chelsea spent over £280m in January following on from £250m in the summer but are still struggling for on-pitch stability. It has made them an easy target for criticism and shots of this kind but Carragher did go on to add, "I still think Chelsea will win." Carragher has been extremely tough on Boehly since his arrival and said earlier this season: "I think it's incredibly arrogant to speak about a league you don't know," after his suggestions of an all-star game.

Meanwhile Micah Richards recovered from hysterical laughter at the initial comment to agree with his fellow pundit on American TV.

The Blues now have just under three weeks before they play the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
