Jamie Carragher hits the nail on the head with response to Cristiano Ronaldo's outburst

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has had his say on Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive tell-all interview which will surely rock the Manchester United dressing room to its very core.

The 37-year-old forward spoke to Piers Morgan Uncensored, via The Sun, to publicly discuss all of his issues with the way the Red Devils are being run as well as the way he has been treated during his second spell at the club. One of the most eye-opening remarks came when Ronaldo openly revealed he doesn't have any respect for manager Erik ten Hag.

"I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you," he claimed. "If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you."

The comments come less than a month after Ronaldo was briefly suspended from first-team action due to his refusal to come off the bench during the 2-0 defeat by Tottenham at home. He was left out of the match-day squad of the following game away at Chelsea.

Carragher has taken to Twitter to share his views on the interview, writing: "Ronaldo “I don’t respect the manager” - Ronaldo under ETH: Announced he wanted to leave, refused to come on as a substitute, walked off the bench & left before the game had finished.

"99% of United fans will be on the side of ETH, which shows how badly Ronaldo has handled this."

The Liverpool icon was not done there, he quote tweeted his original tweet and took the opportunity to have a jab at some of his fellow pundits who also happen to be ex-United stars and particularly protective over Ronaldo.

He added: "The 1% will be Rio [Ferdinand], Roy [Keane] & Patrice [Evra]…"

While none of the aforementioned trio have addressed Ronaldo's comments at the time of writing, they are bordering on indefensible from a United perspective. Ten Hag wasn't even the only senior United figure the five-time Ballon d'Or winner decided to go after.

Ten Hag's predecessor, interim boss Ralf Rangnick, was also in the firing line as Ronaldo claimed: "How a club as [big] as Manchester United, after they sack Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], they bring sporting director Ralf Rangnick, which is something that nobody understands.

"This guy is not even a coach, a big club like Manchester United bringing in a sporting director as coach surprised not only me but the world."

Ronaldo never did see eye-to-eye with Rangnick and things clearly haven't fared any better with Ten Hag, ensuring a January exit is the most likely end to his United nightmare.
