Jamie Carragher hit back at Rio Ferdinand on Twitter after the pair had yet another frank exchange over the divisive subject that is Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United's number seven has sparked headlines around the world following a teaser clip of his upcoming tell-all interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored being released on Twitter.
It has only strengthened the view of many that he should head for the Old Trafford exit as soon as possible for the good of both him and the club. With that being said, Ronaldo has managed to avoid criticism from sections of the media, specifically those he used to share a dressing room with him at United.
One of the pundits in question is Ferdinand, who has often been in the firing line for his reluctance to criticise Ronaldo's conduct. Carragher has pointed this out on a number of occasions and did so again when news first broke of the upcoming interview that will air in full later this week.
The Liverpool legend took to Twitter to write: "Ronaldo 'I don't respect the manager' - Ronaldo under ETH: Announced he wanted to leave, refused to come on as a substitute, walked off the bench and left before the game had finished.
"99 per cent of United fans will be on the side of ETH, which shows how badly Ronaldo has handled this."

Before anyone else even had time to respond, Carragher replied to his own original tweet by adding: "The 1 per cent will be Rio, Roy [Keane] & Patrice [Evra]…"
Not one to take the taunts lying down, Ferdinand replied 12 hours later by writing: "Morning Carra… u wanna come on Vibe With Five [his YouTube podcast] to discuss today?"
The Anfield icon appears to have accepted, responding with a '100' emoji, which has been interpreted by many as Carragher's way of saying '100 per cent' to the invitation.
Not even that comment could come without another not-so-subtle jibe, however, with Carragher adding: "Have you left the WhatsApp group chat yet??"
This is in reference to a previous spat between the pair back in October when Carragher implied Ferdinand was too fearful of losing Ronaldo's friendship to analyse him objectively.
"Rio I know how it works, he's your mate & you/Evra & the rest are on the group WhatsApp & he asks you to come out & defend him, don't be his fan boy you're Rio Ferdinand for FFS!!" he wrote.
Carragher has long been a big supporter of the way Ten Hag has handled Ronaldo since being appointed and the Dutchman has been forced to hold crisis talks once again following this bombshell interview.
The Telegraph report that Ronaldo's behaviour is starting to become an issue in the eyes of other players in the dressing room and there will not be much sadness, especially after this latest episode, when the 37-year-old does eventually depart.
