Jamie Carragher highlights magic Leeds United points total needed for Premier League survival

Jamie Carragher believes 35 points would be enough to keep Leeds United in the Premier League. However, Everton's win over Brighton and Nottingham Forest's win over Southampton means the Whites have dropped into the Premier League bottom three.

With just three games left for Leeds and Sam Allardyce to salvage their season, the Whites need an almost perfect end to the season and a helping hand elsewhere. Champions League hopefuls Newcastle United are next up at Elland Road, intent on finishing in the top-four.

Allardyce will then take the Whites back to his former club, West ham United, in a must win game, before hosting Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road on the final day of the season. Leeds have one of the toughest run ins compared to their relegation rivals and are now two points cut adrift.

Carragher told Sky Sports: "I think 35 points would keep you up. I look at Leicester and Leeds now, they've got three games left.

"Could they win one, draw one, lose one? That would get them to 34 points. I think Everton if they win one more game that would be enough.

"If Nottingham Forest win tonight [against Southampton] they'd only need one more result and they'd be up as well."
