Jamie Carragher has last laugh over Thierry Henry and Micah Richards after Liverpool win

Jamie Carragher was filled with mixed emotions during Liverpool’s win over Villarreal.

The Reds claimed a 3-2 victory over the Spanish outfit in the second leg of their semi-final, to book a place in the final in Paris later this month.

Jurgen Klopp’s side initially trailed 2-0 thanks to early goals from Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin. But Liverpool responded in the second half, with goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane seeing the visitors over the line.

SPANISH MEDIA: 'Football history' - Spanish media notice what Luis Diaz did for Liverpool against Villarreal

The Champions League final is due to take place at the Stade de France in Paris on May 28. Liverpool will be joined by either Real Madrid or Manchester City, who play their semi-final second leg this evening at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Carragher was appearing as a pundit for CBS Sports alongside Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and present Kate Abdo. During their post-match show, a series of clips was presented which showed Carragher’s reactions throughout the match.

At half time, there was a clip which showed Carragher walking off set on his own and shaking head, while Liverpool were 2-0 down. Both Henry and Richards were laughing hysterically at the Reds legend.

Then more clips were shown after Diaz and Mane’s goals. After Diaz found the back of the net, Carragher raised both arms in the air and shouted: “Come on, see you in Paris the lot of yous! I’m going to Paris.”

After Mane scored to make it 3-2 in the night and 5-2 on aggregate, Carragher further celebrated by shouting: “Paris, here we come! Good night Vienna, Villarreal.” The former Reds centre-back also struggled to contain his excitement, as he clapped and laughed.
