Jamie Carragher explains why Nottingham Forest and Leeds United should be 'worried'

Jamie Carragher believes Nottingham Forest will be “worried” after Leicester City and Everton drew 2-2 on Monday night.

Forest slipped back into the Premier League relegation zone as the Foxes moved above them with a point against the Toffees. Everton also moved a point closer to Steve Cooper’s side after they fought back at the King Power Stadium.

Forest, Leicester and Leeds United are all locked together on 30 points, with Everton on 29 points in 19th place and Southampton bottom on 24 points.

Caglar Soyuncu and Jamie Vardy both scored for Leicester as they led Everton 2-1 until Alex Iwobi’s equaliser in the second half.

Asked if he’s more encouraged about Everton’s survival chances after the match, Carragher said: “Yes, just for the actual performance more than anything.

“I said if you were watching that as a Nottingham Forest staff member, player or supporter - and Leeds - you’d be worried.

“Leicester obviously came up against Everton there and I mean the big problem for Everton is that they’ve still got two away games out of the next three, and they’ve won one away game all season. That’s a huge problem.

“Then, the one home game is against Manchester City before you get to the last game of the season.

“You’ve just got to hope from an Everton point of view - or certainly they’ll hope - that they’re still in with a shout.

“I’ve never felt Everton would ever go down at any stage, really.

“If they’d have lost tonight most people would have been really fearful for them but I just look at the form Leeds are in.”
