Jamie Carragher claims Gary Neville has 'cried off' Sky show after Liverpool beat Man United

Jamie Carragher claims Gary Neville has ‘cried off’ Monday Night Football on Sky Sports tonight following Man United’s 7-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday evening.

The former Liverpool and England defender posted a poll on Twitter this afternoon asking fans which topics they want to see covered on the show - and also announced: "Gary Neville has cried off from MNF", followed by a hat-trick of laughing emojis.

When one fan sought clarification and asked: "No way has he bottled it?", Carragher replied with a '100%' emoji.

Whether this has been said tongue-in-cheek as a wind-up to add salt to Neville’s wounds remains to be seen. Carragher also changed his Twitter profile icon to a less than amused photograph of his Sky Sports counterpart.

Gary Neville slumped in his commentary seat as the match progressed at Anfield yesterday, becoming more discontent as each goal hit the net.

Two strikes each from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo left United reeling before Roberto Firmino came off the bench to fire in the final insult.

Neville was given a hard time on Sky after the game last night too, clashing with Carragher and Graeme Souness in the studio.

Reflecting on the heavy defeat, Neville said he was left in "shock" and called Bruno Fernandes a "disgrace", but also suggested United were the better team in the first half and that the final outcome was an "absolute freak" result.
