Jamie Carragher has issued a transfer message to Manchester City after watching summer target Harry Kane stun the Premier League champions on Saturday afternoon.
After current club Tottenham priced him out of a high-profile switch to the Etihad Stadium, the England frontman struggled for form at the start of this season.
However, as the north Londoners continue their own top-four pursuit, Kane produced a masterclass performance — scoring two goals and playing a part in another — as City were stunned 3-2 by Spurs on Saturday evening.
Liverpool beat Norwich earlier in the day and are now only six points behind with a game extra to play.
Combining with Son Heung-min to provide an opener for Dejan Kulusevski, it was Kane who ultimately settled the scores with two goals of his own. He also had one ruled out for offside in a domineering display.
Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez equalised twice for City amid added-time drama inspired by Kane.
Speaking about Kane post-match, pundit Carragher said: "He has been outstanding. He really has.
"It feels like with Manchester City watching... Look at what you could've won! That man there, Son and Kane, that partnership. He's deserved that goal he really has, he's been Tottenham's best player."

On the opener, Carragher added: "Manchester City wanted to sign Harry Kane in the summer due to his guarantee of goals, but we saw another part of his game. He's one of the best passers of the ball in the Premier League."
Fellow pundit Graeme Souness agreed, adding: "He was fantastic. Not just his goals, but his general play. He was a real problem.
"He gets hold of the ball he's got the technique and the vision to see things and can deliver on the things he sees. It was a remarkable performance."
