Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea are best placed to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for Premier League glory this season.
Thomas Tuchel's side were held to a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, with Harry Kane heading home in the dying embers of the match to snatch a share of the spoils. Going into the match, Spurs had been mentioned as the side capable of mounting a possible title bid and displayed character to come from behind twice in the match.
Chelsea appeared to be in a three-way tussle for top spot with City and Liverpool last season but fell dramatically off the pace following the turn of the year. Many believe the Londoners are still lacking a proven goalscorer to be able to close the gap on the division's leading duo, a sentiment Carragher agrees with.

Asked where the 'right striker' could take Chelsea this campaign, the ex-Liverpool defender told Sky Sports: "To being the nearest challengers to Liverpool and Man City - as they were last season. I felt they would have a point to prove as there has been so much talk about Tottenham this season.
Carragher continued: "I think Chelsea have still got the edge [over Spurs]. A lot of people have said Spurs could be the closest challengers to the top two, and I think they will get a lot closer. But, with the money Chelsea are throwing around, you could still see another two or three players coming into that squad.
"That first half will be a wake-up call for a lot of Spurs fans and players of thinking of where they have to get to if they really want to challenge that top two and be the team out of the pack who try and put pressure on."
Sharing a similar stance, ex-Reds midfielder Graeme Souness added: "I'm surprised how good Chelsea were. But they need someone that is going to get that 20 plus goals a season and the difference in tight games. If they get that, that would make them very dangerous and challenge the big two.
"For Spurs, they have improved but have still got a bit to go. You have to throw Arsenal into the mix as well, they look as if they are on the right road as well."
