Jameson Williams hit with pending 2-game suspension for PEDs

A report from ESPN indicates Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is being assessed a two-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing drugs.

Williams told Eric Woodyard of ESPNtold Eric Woodyard of ESPN that he is “in good spirits” but “has no choice to take it on the chin.”

There is no specific substance listed. Typically a two-game suspension for PEDs is the result of a stimulant or masking agent and not steroidal drugs. Recreational drugs are a different category of suspension from the NFL.

Williams will miss Detroit’s next two games, beginning with the Week 8 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. He will also miss Detroit’s trip to Green Bay in Week 9.
