Ajax have poked fun at Rangers captain James Tavernier after he was sold a dummy by Daley Blind during the 4-0 rout in Amsterdam.
It was a night to forget for Rangers on their travels as the Eredivisie champions emerged as convincing winners to get their Champions League campaign off to a flyer. Edson Alvarez got it started with a header before a quickfire Steven Berghuis and Daley Blind double left Gio van Bronckhorst 's team on the ropes.
Steven Bergwijn added a late fourth to leave Gers rooted to the bottom of Group A with Wednesday's clash with Napoli at Ibrox now looking all the more important. For Ajax though it was the dream start and it seems they're still living it up judging by their social media antics - with Ibrox skipper Tavernier getting the brunt of it from their twitter team.
They uploaded a clip of Daley Blind showing off some of his experience, feigning to backheel the ball back to Tavernier before stopping it dead at the last second to kill some time. Tavernier is seen bending down to pick it up before realising he's been stitched up by a clever bit of game-management.
The Ajax twitter shared a clip of the incident, and repeated Tavernier's red-faced moment no fewer than five times before showing a clip of goalscorer Bergwijn sharing a laugh with Blind, seemingly at the Ibrox captain's expense.
