James Tavernier admits Rangers were 'sloppy' in their play against Partick Thistle but know how to improve on Michael Beale's plan for the squad.
The Light Blues were involved in a dramatic 3-2 tussle with the Scottish Championship side that eventually saw progression in to the Scottish Cup quarter-final with two penalties awarded and the Jags offered a free goal in a moment of controversy. Beale's men remain unbeaten since the Englishman came in to post but faced a tough challenge at Ibrox.
And Tavernier insists recent results are improving the squad but that Beale's plan is not being fully executed on the pitch. The Englishman knows the key to his side getting better but admits the sloppiness must end soon.

He said: “It’s a positive that we’re getting results without hitting the top gear of consistency over 90 minutes.
“That’s to come but we can’t keep saying it week after week. It needs to be there. We’ve all been together a long time and we know what the manager wants us to do, we need to be really at it and be really consistent over the 90 minutes.
“I believe it’s down to the players. We’re all good players and we know what the boss wants us to do but it’s about executing it on the pitch. We need to do that for 90 minutes because if we take the foot off the gas and get sloppy in our play, we’re going to make it harder for ourselves.
“We’ve done that at times in the last few weeks. Hearts was a great example of that, we played well throughout the game. We’ve got to learn and deliver, we can’t continue to be like this.
“We’re getting the results we want. In that sense, it’s improvement. But we know there’s still room for improvement. We’re through to the next round but it’s the level of performance that’s really disappointing. We made it really hard for ourselves which we didn’t need to.”
