Nathan Patterson has been congratulated by a host of Rangers players after making an impressive Premier League debut.
The right-back who came through the Ibrox club's youth academy made a big money move to Everton in January but had to wait until Saturday for his debut after injury ended his 2021/22 season early. Patterson was in impressive form for Frank Lampard's side against Chelsea - who put Raheem Sterling up against him - but it wasn't enough as a Jorginho penalty sealed a 1-0 win for the London giants.
Despite the result, the Scotland international's performance has won plenty of plaudits, with some coming from his old teammates back at Rangers. He posted to social media after his outing, hoping for the best for Ben Godfrey after the defender's injury: "Proud to make my Prem debut in front of the fans. Thought we deserved more today. Thoughts with Ben Godfrey tonight. Hope you ok mate."

Captain James Tavernier lead the messages with 'Love to see it, congrats bro' and Scott Arfield commented 'not a problem for you son.'
Ryan Jack sent him 'well done mate' with winger Scott Wright sending a similar message of 'well done Nath.'
More Light Blues faces past and present also wished him well, including Andy Firth, Stephen Kelly and Jordan Jones. Everton and Patterson are back in action against Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa next Saturday.
