Footage circulating on social media appears to show one Rangers fan venting his fury at captain James Tavernier after their defeat to St Johnstone.
The Ibrox side fell to a damaging defeat in Perthshire that leaves them trailing seven points behind rivals Celtic at the top of the Premiership. Brilliant strikes from Jason Brown and Nicky Clark gave the McDiarmid Park team a 2-0 lead and despite Tavernier striking from the edge of the box to halve the deficit, they were unable to even salvage a point.
It was the latest concerning result that left Rangers fans furious after they dropped points against Livingston two weeks ago and crashed out of the Champions League without picking up a single one. For many, it was the breaking point, with chants of "Gio, get to f***" heard coming from the away end near full-time as the visitors struggled again with the pressure on.
It appears some fans stayed behind to make their opinions felt to the players as they left the ground after the whistle. One clip, which has been widely shared on social media, appears to show captain Tavernier facing fans as one supporter makes his voice heard.
While the audio is unclear, he can be heard saying "every single week is the same" before naming a number of underperforming Rangers players to the skipper. But the confrontation goes no further as the clip ends with Tavernier leaving the shot escorted by club officials.
