'Their decision' - James Milner opens up on leaving Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp claim
Departing midfielder James Milner has seemingly revealed Jurgen Klopp wanted him to stay put at Liverpool beyond this season.
The 37-year-old is one of four players confirmed to be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of June, bringing to an end his impressive eight-year stay at Anfield. An outstanding professional over the course of his Merseyside stay, Milner deservedly received a guard of honour from his team-mates after the full-time whistle vs Aston Villa on Saturday and his chant rang around the stadium.
Some supporters had hoped the Champions League winner would sign another one-year contract extension, as he did last summer, and Milner appears to have hinted Klopp would have kept him at the club had he been given the authority to do so.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drops Liverpool future hint and sets Virgil van Dijk challenge
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has hinted he may remain in the Premier League after his Liverpool exit.
The 29-year-old has been reduced to just nine appearances in the English top-flight this season after missing the start of campaign with a hamstring injury. His game-time has been impacted further and has featured just twice in the matchday squad since the chastening 3-0 defeat at Molineux against Wolves back in January.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was among an outgoing quartet as Anfield bid farewell to the former Arsenal midfielder on Saturday, as well as Naby Keita, James Milner and Roberto Firmino.
