James Milner has expressed his desire to keep helping Liverpool and contributing to Jurgen Klopp's side despite entering the final months of his current deal.
The 37-year-old will be out of contract at Anfield at the end of June after initially penning a one-year extension following the Reds' infamous pursuit of a quadruple, last summer. This season, his game time has been reduced further but the German boss retains faith in the three-time Premier League winner -making 19 appearances in the English top flight this season.
Speaking in January, the 55-year-old challenged Liverpool to find a long-term role for the former Leeds United, Newcastle United and Manchester City midfielder. And after receiving his MBE, Milner's comments show he isn't quite ready to hang his boots up.

"It's easy to say yes after the result we had at the weekend obviously," Milner said after he was asked whether he was still enjoying playing professional football at 37. "I think everyone you speak to Kammy [Chris Kamara] he was saying you should play as long as you can.
"I feel very fortunate to be playing at an amazing club like Liverpool, in an amazing team that I'm playing with. I feel like I can still contribute and I feel good physically the majority of days so I'll keep working hard.
"I just want to keep contributing to a massive club like Liverpool and hopefully make an impact both on and off the field."
Milner received an 11-minute runout during Liverpool's monumental demolition of their fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday. He replaced Brazil international Fabinho in the closing stages as the Reds netted seven past Erik ten Hag's side.
After an indifferent start to the campaign, the Champions League places are in their sights after clawing back at the deficit. Their win at the weekend saw them move to within three points of Tottenham Hotspur after they made it four wins in five games.
In the triumph, Alisson kept his fifth clean sheet to steer him into contention for the Golden Glove. The 37-year-old praised the team's performance at Anfield.
He said: "It was a big performance, we knew we needed to get the three points - which is the main thing really - there's a lot of talk around the scoreline but ultimately it is three points.
"I think we can take positives from the performance, I thought it was an outstanding team performance, a lot of positives there. I think the performances recently have been improving steadily, it was nice to get a clean sheet against a good team, score the goals we did and hopefully we can keep that momentum going towards the end of the season."
