PRODUCERS on James McAvoy's new film have issued an apology letter to residents in Dundee amid filming disruptions.
McAvoy is set to make his directorial debut on a movie about the true story of two Scottish rappers from Dundee.
Scenes are to be shot in Hilltown over the coming month, and the letter issued advice on restrictions which will be in place for residents.
The film - California Schemin- centres around Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd who are fed up of London record producers not taking Scottish rap seriously and dismissing them as "rapping Proclaimers".
The pair went on to trick the international music industry in the early 2000s by adopting American accents and reinventing themselves as Californian rap duo, Silibil N’ Brains (above).
They quickly had success, before it all started falling apart.
The letter said: “We are working very closely with the local authorities and Police Scotland during the making of this film.
“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience filming may cause.
“Please be assured it is our intention to cause the least possible disruption to you and to work safely near your properties during this time.”
Replacement parking is understood to be provided on Dudhope Street.
The film is being produced by Homefront Productions, which is led by Scottish producer Guy J Louthan.
