James Martin was flooded with complaints from viewers after he was joined by a group of youngsters on Saturday Morning.
Inspired by ITV's Eat Them To Defeat Them campaign which aims to encourage kids to eat more greens, James cooked up a selection of veggie meals.
However, he came under fire for serving the children dishes straight from a sizzling hot pan for them to try.
The kids were seen blowing on the food in an effort to cool it down, with one viewer writing: "Serving the bairns actual fire directly from the pan all whilst mugging them off has made my Saturday morning . Even odds them kids are off to A&E within the next half hour."
“Perhaps let it cool down first, poor kids look like they are burning their mouths!!!” another added.
“Watching #jamesmartin those kids how the didn’t burn there mouths. Looks so hot,” said one concerned viewer.
"Serving these kids steaming hot veg and shouting 'WHAT ABOUT THAT, THEN??'" joked another.
"These kids awkwardly trying to eat the red hot vegetables without complaining," a fifth chimed.
This was the second awkward TV moment for the chef, after he appeared to be baffled by a guest's age on an episode of James Martin's American Adventure.
During the episode, which was repeated last week from his 2018 series, James visited Santa Monica's iconic beach and also cooked with world-famous chef Wolfgang Puck.
As he was on the beach he bumped into fitness enthusiast Wendy Ida.
James said in the voiceover before their meeting: "Now the director said to me 'get here James about three o'clock, you'll find a woman on the beach - a very special woman'. So here I am."
When James asked Wendy her age, he was stunned when she told him she was 65.
James then awkwardly said she would qualify for a bus pass before turning to the camera to show off a shocked face.
Luckily for the TV chef, Wendy took it well and thanked James for his "lovely" compliment.

She told James that the secret behind her youth and high energy levels was down to her positive thinking.
She explained: "People ask me all the time 'Wendy, where do you get your energy from? How do you do what you do every day and get up? I need some of that'.
"I'm like 'OK, I can give it to you and I'll show you how to do it'. "But it really has a lot to do with positive thinking - clean out the negative energy in your closet."
