Fears over an injury to James Maddison have been allayed by Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers ahead of the World Cup.
Maddison was a surprise - and very popular - pick of Gareth Southgate’s when the 26-man England squad heading to Qatar was confirmed this week.
There was plenty of concern at the London Stadium after the midfielder went down holding his leg during the first half against West Ham.
After receiving treatment on the pitch the midfielder, who had opened the scoring with his seventh goal of the season, gingerly left the field.
With England's first match just nine days away, even a relatively minor injury could see a player miss out on the tournament, but Rodgers sees no reason for alarm.
Walking past reporters following the game, Maddison said: “It should be fine, yeah, I think so.”
"He’s fine,” Rodgers earlier said. “It was just precautionary, a little soreness on the side of the knee. He hasn't trained a lot this week. He’s OK."
Rodgers added in his press conference: “I spoke to the doctor just before coming here, he said he’s fine.
“He hasn’t trained a great deal since Everton. He felt a knock on his knee, so as a precaution I didn’t want to risk it.
“We could have let him play on but I didn’t want to put the risk on him or the team.”
