James Maddison has claimed that Leicester City “mastered” Everton in the Premier League clash at Goodison Park.
The Blues were beaten 2-0 on Saturday night after a disappointing performance from Frank Lampard’s side. Goals from Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes handed a blow to Everton in their final home fixture before the World Cup.
Defeat at the hands of the Foxes was a fourth loss in the last six matches for Everton. It leaves the Blues in 15th place in the Premier League table.

Leicester had gone into the match in the relegation zone, but the win lifted them into 13th and above Everton in the table. Maddison has explained how he and his team-mates helped “master” the home side and silence the Goodison crowd.
“Yes, is a simple answer,” Maddison told Sky Sports, when asked if Leicester’s poor start to the season is now behind them.
He added: “If you look at the performance today, from Wardy (Danny Ward) to the whole 11, we were absolutely brilliant.
"Everything we worked on in terms of coming to Goodison and how tough it can be, I think we mastered them. We stifled the threat that Everton had, especially in the first half.
“I think it was everything you would have wanted in an away performance and I think that puts to bed the form and how much you media lot talk about us being in the bottom three, hopefully we can continue to push on.”
