James Maddison delivers amazing Fabio Vieira verdict following Arsenal win vs Bodo/Glimt

Arsenal summer signing Fabio Vieira has been the subject of some high praise from Leicester star James Maddison after the Europa League win vs Bodo/Glimt.

The Portuguese playmaker scored and grabbed an assist against the Norwegian outfit on Thursday evening, impressing once again when given his chance by Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard was able to rotate his squad ahead of a huge clash against Liverpool this weekend, with the Gunners hoping to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League.

James Maddison was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium a few years ago, but Arsenal opted to sign Martin Odegaard instead, with the club captain enjoying a fine start to the new season. Maddison was the Foxes' standout performer last term and continues to attract potential suitors with some fine performances scoring five goals and providing a further two assists in seven appearances so far this campaign.

The England international could have been in the Gunners line-up himself if they had met the Foxes' £70million asking price for him in the summer of 2021, but instead, Maddison remained at the King Power Stadium. The 25-year-old has now gone out of his way to label Fabio Vieira a "good player" after the Arsenal star put on a masterful display in the Europa League.

Responding to a picture of Arsenal's £35million signing uploaded to Instagram by SPORTbible, Maddison wrote in the comments section: "Why does his neck look so long in this pic" followed by two laughing emojis. The 25-year-old quickly praised the Portuguese playmaker as he added: "good player tho", and another laughing emoji.

The Gunners' talent was the best player on the pitch as Mikel Arteta's side cruised to victory against Bodo/Glimt. After striking the crossbar with an early chance, Vieira followed it up with a sublime assist for Rob Holding's goal before rounding out the win with a lovely finish after Gabriel Jesus danced his way into the penalty area.
