James Corden has gained a reputation for having some awkward feuds with other celebrities - and usually he confesses that he was to blame. However, there was one humiliating incident involving Hollywood legend Pierce Brosnan that still baffles the Gavin & Stacey star to this day.
The funnyman, who got in hot water recently over his brief ban from a top New York City due to his treatment of waiting staff, has rubbed shoulders with many famous faces over the years, from Mariah Carey to Lady Gaga. And during a twist on 'Truth or Dare' on The Late Late Show, James was forced to reveal a celebrity who had been rude to him.
During the game of 'Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts' along with Khloe Kardashian, James had to name a celeb or drink bird saliva.
"There was someone. But I don't know if we’re going to try and book him on the show. I don’t know if I can drink it," he admitted.
Wanting to know the answer, Khloe hit back by saying: "Why would you want to book him if he's rude. Screw him, and tell us the name."
After some initial hesitation, James finally dropped the name - Pierce Brosnan.
James had been at a U2 gig when he had a rather tense encounter with the James Bond actor, who probably won't be going on his US talk show any time soon.
Revealing what happened, James said: "Pierce Brosnan. I don’t think he's a rude man, he just happened to be [to me]. I went to see U2 and I was there with my friend Louis and his wife, and my wife.
"And Pierce Brosnan was with some friends and they left halfway through the gig to go off, and we left the space [for them].
"And then they had been gone quite a long and Bono was like right there on this sort of big runway in the middle of the show."
James thought he'd cheekily take the opportunity to move closer to the front - but didn't expect what happened next.
"So me and my wife moved into this area, and literally, I’ve never felt anything like it, this arm went on here and just pushed me out the way," he continued.
But there was no big war of words as Pierce didn't even look at James while he returned back to his special spot.
James added: "And I looked at him, and he didn't even glance at me and he just moved back into his area. Maybe he's just a bit f***ing rude."
James himself knows about being 'rude', as he once confessed he behaved badly towards some of his closest colleagues and friends.
This included, best pal and Gavin & Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones, who he first met while starring on ITV drama Fat Friends in 2000 and worked with to write the script for their own sitcom.
In his autobiography, James confessed that he was 'rude' to Ruth, who he is still friends with to this day.
"As 2008 wore on, it got so bad I was being rude to my agent and I even started being rude to Ruth. If I was in company and the conversation wasn't revolving around me, I would just switch off," he said.
Rob Brydon, who also starred in Gavin & Stacey with the pair, once opened up on the time where he confronted James about his changing behaviour.
The Uncle Bryn actor, who hosts Would I Lie To You, said he took James out for lunch to have a word with the star about his antics.
"I'd known him for a while – we met on a big comedy-drama called Cruise of the Gods in about 2002," explained Rob.
"I was very impressed by him, although he was very young, very green – very provincial is how I would describe him, not unlike myself at that age. He is such a talent, James, good God he really is. So he was on a rollercoaster."
Despite admiring his co-star, Rob added: "He was burning the candle at both ends, and becoming ratty and irritable."
