James Corden has heaped praise on his wife Julia and joked she must look at her comedian husband and think "this was a huge mistake".
James, 44, appeared on Good Morning Britain (GMB) today where he spoke about returning to the UK and his new TV show, in which he plays a "complex" and "flawed" chef.
It comes after James was briefly banned by the owner of restaurant Balthazar in New York, amid allegations he "yelled" at a waiter. He later admitted he was "ungracious" and said it was never his "intention" to upset staff.
During the GMB interview, filmed before the short-lived restaurant ban and the social media storm that followed, James spoke about meeting his TV producer wife Julia Carey.
"I absolutely knew minute one that I couldn't do any better than this. When I met Jules, I was like it's a miracle every day. She must just look at me and think, 'What did I do. This was a huge mistake,'" he told entertainment editor Richard Arnold.
James and Jules married in 2012 and are parents to three children.
In 2012, James paid tribute to his love on stage as he collected his Tony award for One Man, Two Guv'nors.
He said: "Seriously, I would not be holding this if it wasn’t for her. She made me say ‘us’ instead of ‘I’ and ‘we’ instead of ‘me’ and I love her. Thank you very much."
The Gavin and Stacey star is set to leave his Late Late Show in the US after seven years, and he told Richard the plan was always to return to the UK.
"It's going to be really emotional. It's going to be a real thing to draw it to a close but I'm so proud of it. I'm so proud of what I've done.

On Monday evening, James addressed the public outcry after he was accused of 'yelling like crazy' at staff after taking issue with an omelette which was served to Jules.
He told viewers of his show: "Because I didn't shout or scream, I didn't get up out of my seat, I didn't call anyone names or use derogatory language, I've been walking around thinking that I haven't done anything wrong," he said, "But the truth is I have made a rude, rude comment. And it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment, it was ungracious to the server."
