James Corden says wading into Prince Harry row ‘not fair’ as he plans UK return

James Corden is set to return to the UK after turning down an eight-figure bonus from bosses in LA to continue presenting the Late Late Show stateside, say reports.

He and wife Julia are said to be leaving California after living there for eight years in order to spend more time in the UK with family.

According to reports he has built up a close friendship with Prince Harry while there and the actor and presenter got a message from the Duke during an interview.

In an interview with The Sun he would not be drawn on the current debate surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and said: "It's not fair."

On receiving the text he playfully told the interviewer 'Oh God, wouldn’t you just love to see these.'

It comes after he admitted he was terrified as he prepares to leave his hit US chat show.

The 44-year-old is bowing out from the Late Late Show after eight years in the hot seat.

He said he has “never felt this scared” in his professional life but insisted he stands by his return to England to raise his family.

Corden added: “I am certain this is the most overwhelming year of my life professionally.

“My agent puts up with nothing but sh** from me on the phone. I have never felt this scared since I decided to take the show to move here.

“So I have to embrace that feeling because I think to be excited and scared is probably the right place to make something quite interesting.”
