No expense was spared when James Corden married Julia Carey at a star-studded ceremony back in September 2012. The Gavin & Stacey star and the former charity publicist, who got engaged on Christmas Day back in 2010, invited 200 guests to their lavish £250,000 nuptials at uber-swish Babington House in Somerset.
At the time, a source said: "James has been so over-excited about the wedding and wanted to make sure it was everything they imagined. It was just close friends and family and a very special day for them both." The couple, who now have three kids together, were serenaded by Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol at the end of the service, while hip hop stars Rizzle Kicks and Radio DJ Chris Moyles provided the reception entertainment.
Julia, who had given birth to their first child Max the year before, looked stunning in an elegant £8,000 wedding gown covered in lace by designer Monique Lhuillier.
The posh Babington House, a 32-bedroom former stately home that is now a hotel and private members' club for Soho House, was the venue for the three-day celebration, which began with a drinks reception on the Friday evening.
There were a number of famous faces watching the pair get married, including singer Natalie Imbruglia and comedians Jimmy Carr and Michael McIntyre.
David Walliams, who had worked with James on Little Britain, was also in attendance with his then-wife, Lara Stone, as well as Dragons Den businessman Peter Jones.
James co-hosted the Brit Awards with Kylie Minogue back in 2009 - and the singer was on the guest list for his big day.
There were obviously a few of James' co-stars from Gavin & Stacey, such as Gavin actor Matthew Horne and his co-writer Ruth Jones, who also played Nessa in the hit comedy series.
James' History Boys co-star Dominic Cooper was obviously invited, as he was the person who first introduced The Late Late Show host to Julia back in 2009.
But the most notorious guest of all was House of the Dragon star Matt Smith, who ended up getting kicked out.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show back in 2018, James brought up what happened on his wedding day, much to the embarrassment of poor Matt.
When Corden mentioned the wedding, the blushing former Doctor Who star said: "Oh, no! Don't mention the wall!"
James, who appeared with Matt in a few Doctor Who episodes, claimed that the actor was "the star of our wedding in many ways".
Teasing his pal for drinking too much, the presenter asked: "Do you remember anything about that day?
Matt confessed that in his drunken state he ended up falling on a staircase and still had the injury to prove it.
"I've got a scar on my chin where I fell up the stairs. I fell in a fire [place]—twice! It wasn't alight, thank God; I am a fire hazard," he revealed.
"I danced with Kylie Minogue, which was glorious. And then your dad put me in a car."
But cheeky Matt decided he wasn't done with partying and ended up running back into the venue.
Explaining what James' dad had said, he said: "At the end, he was like, 'Matt...Come on, son. It's time. It's time.' He put me in the car; it was a silver Mercedes. I got in, and I closed the door, and I got around the side and ran back inside!"
"But what a wedding," he added.
"A good wedding," said James, who was delighted with his mate's antics. "It was a good wedding!"
James recently heaped praise on Julia - and joked she must sometimes look at him and think "this was a huge mistake".
It happened during an interview on Good Morning Britain today, which was recorded before he was briefly banned by the owner of restaurant Balthazar in New York amid allegations he "yelled" at a waiter
James spoke about returning to the UK and his new TV show, in which he plays a "complex" and "flawed" chef, as well as his marriage.
The comedian, who has admitted he was "ungracious" and said it was never his "intention" to upset staff after the social media storm, spoke about meeting Julia.
It comes after James was briefly banned by the owner of restaurant Balthazar in New York, amid allegations he "yelled" at a waiter. He later admitted he was "ungracious" and said it was never his "intention" to upset staff.
"I absolutely knew minute one that I couldn't do any better than this," he told Richard Arnold.
"When I met Jules, I was like it's a miracle every day. She must just look at me and think, 'What did I do. This was a huge mistake.'"
