James Corden parted ways with Weight Watchers last year, with his multi-year global deal not being renewed, despite being a ‘poster boy’ for the slimming brand.
Corden’s deal reportedly ran its course two months after he was accused of being rude to staff in a New York City restaurant. There is no insinuation that this caused the deal to end.
Corden's spokesman reportedly said: “The deal with WW was successfully completed last year having run its course. Both parties are happy and on good terms.”
His partnership was revealed in January 2021, with a press release announcing his ambassadorial role at the same time. He went on to feature in many interviews and promotions about his 35lb weight loss during the first six months with the programme.
The Late Late Show presenter, 44, also had his own personal page on the brand’s UK and US websites, which has since been removed.
A source told DailyMail.com : “James was the poster boy for WW especially in the USA. He was on TV commercials and talking about it on his show and in media interviews at first.
“His weight loss journey drew headlines and people noticed how successful he was. However that has not happened recently and with him leaving America for the UK, there will be less eyeballs on him in the States.”
It came amid allegations about Corden’s behaviour and professional conduct, after he was banned from NYC restaurant Balthazar in October last year.
Corden reportedly complained so harshly about his order at the SoHo restaurant, that restaurateur Keith McNally banned him from returning.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote of Corden’s complaint and that “the kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad”.
He continued: “That's when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server: 'You can't do your job! You can't do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelet myself!'
“M.K (server) was very apologetic and brought G. (floor manager) over to the table.
“He returned the dish, and after that, everything was fine. He gave them promo Champagne glasses to smooth things out.
“G. said that Corden was pleasant to him but nasty to the server. M.K. was very shaken, but professional that she is, continued to finish her shift.'
McNally confirmed he had received a call from Corden apologising for his behaviour shortly after the post was shared on Instagram.
