Sir Patrick Stewart and James Corden have further suggested that they are on good terms, following a tense exchange more than a decade ago, whilst together on the penultimate episode of The Late Late Show this week.
The actor, 82, featured as a guest on the CBS talk show last night alongside Mila Kunis, 39, ahead of the final episode fronted by host James, 44, airing at the end of the week.
Footage shared on Twitter showed Patrick arriving into the studio, where he was greeted by James. The pair embraced in a hug at one point ahead of the interview.
During the show, Patrick spoke about his life and even made a comparison between himself and James about them both having defied expectations in their respective careers.
Their interactions were much different from their tense exchange at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London back in 2010 when Patrick was presenting an award.
Whilst stood on stage alongside James at the event, Patrick had criticised James, before seemingly fat-shaming the Gavin and Stacey co-creator.
Ahead of presenting an award to fellow actor Zoe Saldana, Patrick commented: "I want to speak to James here. It's James isn't it?" He proceeded to share advice with him.
Patrick said: "When the presenters are up here and when the recipients are receiving their awards, don't stand at the back of the stage with your hands in your pockets looking around as though you wished you were anywhere but here."
James responded: "Oh, you couldn't be more wrong, sir. [...] If it looked like that I'm so sorry." He added: "But when you come up and present an award just f***ing get on with it".
Patrick later said: "From where I was sitting, I can see your belly and that was right over there at the back of the room".
James didn't seem impressed, with him going up to Patrick and saying: "Sorry, I'm waiting for the punchline [...] You can see my belly and we can all see you dying right now", in reference to the jibe not landing with the audience.
Later during the event, James showed his stomach to the audience, which prompted cheers, and he teased: "OK can we get a taxi ready please. The old man's going home."
It was reported at the time that James later said that he found the interaction "quite disappointing," though they appear to have since resolved any tension between them.
Patrick has appeared on the Late Late Show with James Corden on numerous occasions since the Glamour Women of the Year Awards including in 2015, 2020 and last year.
