Daniel Craig has issued a gushing tribute to "incomparable" Queen Elizabeth II.
The nation is mourning after Buckingham Palace confirmed Her Majesty's death aged 96. The Queen appeared alongside the James Bond star in a skit for the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
The 54-year-old Hollywood actor heaped praise on The Queen in a tribute shared with the PA News agency. He said: "I, like so many, was deeply saddened by the news today and my thoughts are with the royal family, those she loved and all those who loved her

"She leaves an incomparable legacy and will be profoundly missed." Daniel has joined stars such as Paul McCartney in sharing a tribute to The Queen.
In a statement on Twitter the Beatle said: "God bless Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace. Long live The King." Alongside the tweet he also shared a black and white image of Her Majesty.
The 80-year-old met the late Monarch on numerous occasions, including at the Walker Art gallery during her Golden Jubilee visit in 2012. In 1997 he was also knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.
