James Argent has opened up about his alcohol relapse earlier this month, saying that he "grew complacent" as he stopped going to meetings and counselling.
The former TOWIE star, 34, visited rehab earlier this month after "hitting a blip" during his ongoing recovery.
Paramedics were called to his home in Woodford, Essex, after his friends grew worried when they couldn't get hold of the star.
Appearing on Loose Women today, Arg said that he "had to learn a very hard and tough lesson" and that it was a "blip".
Quizzed on what prompted his relapse, he replied: "It could be a number of things - I do feel like I started getting complacent.
"I felt great," he continued. "I would have put my house on the fact that I'd never have a drink again.
"I stopped going to meetings, I wasn't going to counselling... it's something you have to work on for the rest of your life."
Arg declined to go into anymore detail about what happened the night he relapsed but said that he had been struggling with his cravings as he previously would resort to food to stem them.
"I don't want to go into detail because it's quite personal," he said. "You start to get cravings and it's learning about what to do.
"I think I started to get cravings over the summer... even though I was clean and sober for such a long time."
He explained that he had grown unhealthy in lockdown, which had seen him gain 11 stone - which he has since lost through gastric surgery.
Arg said: "I should have been more prepared myself... and more organised."
The reality TV star also revealed that he had been struggling with loneliness - particularly so because he was an extrovert.
"I'm an extrovert so I need to be around people all the time," he said. "A lot of people's chaos can be being around people all the time... my chaos is being inside, alone.
"I always dreamed of having this home down the road of my parents... but I'm in there alone."
He also explained that his unpredictable schedule made things tricky, but now is getting back on his feet.
"Your problems are going to follow them wherever you are," he said. "I'm doing treatment every day... I'm getting to the gym and I'm seeing my friends."
He also spoke about how his old flame Lydia had helped him.
"Lydia's one of my best friends," he said. "We were together for 8 years and there's a lot of history but we've made it clear to each other that we're friends."
