James Argent has reportedly voluntarily joined a daily rehabilitation programme.
The former TOWIE star, 34, is said to have been visiting rehab unit in in Woodford, Essex, after allegedly "hitting a blip" in his ongoing recovery.
It's believed the reality TV star won't check into the facility overnight, but will visit daily.
The Sun have claimed that the star's concerned pal's were forced to call 999 earlier this week, after a scare.
It's reported that worried friends rang emergency services when they couldn't get hold of James last Monday.
Medics apparently were able to treat the star best known as Arg, and he is now focusing on his health and wellbeing.
"James has done amazingly well in turning his life around. But he’s also been working really, really hard both in the gym and out of it lately," a source told the publication.
"He’s hit a bit of a brick wall and crashed and burnt and hit a low. He now needs to take time to just get back to where he was. His mates have ordered him to rest up and be kinder to himself. He might also take a holiday to reset."
James - who has lost a staggering 13 stone over the past year - has always spoken honest and candidly about his recovery.
Speaking via social media in March 2021, the Essex native paid tribute to his previous rehab team and urged his followers to reach out for help if they found themselves in similar situations.
"Hey guys, I just want to thank each and every single one of you who have shown me nothing but love and support with all your messages over what's been quite a difficult time for me," James began his inspiring speech with.
"I know you're worried but I can honestly say I feel so much more positive about the future and I feel so much better in myself and that's because I have had day to day help from Dad in Recovery."
He added: "If you're indoors at home and seeing this video message, please if you are struggling please do not suffer in silence, please reach out to Nick, Dad in Recovery and the whole team at Verve health and they will help you along your journey just like they've done with me."
After rising to fame thanks to his appearance on The Only Way is Essex, James has struggled with alcohol and drug addiction over the years.
Speaking on Loose Women after stints in rehab, the star reflected on his past low experiences.
"I was the biggest I'd ever been, 23 and a half stone, I hated everything about myself, all time low," he admitted on the ITV show.
"I remember around that period, I was using drugs for like two or three days straight in my house, I had locked myself in and it was pitch black in the house."
The Mirror has reached out to representative for James Argent for comment.
