James Argent 'quits Celebrity SAS after getting trench foot and jungle rot'

James Argent has reportedly been forced to pull out of the upcoming series of Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins after contracting trench foot and jungle rot.

The former TOWIE star, 34, had been taking part in the brand-new series of the hit Channel 4 show but he has been forced to throw in the towel on the gruelling regime after doctors discharged him from the show, insisting that he could no longer continue on his SAS journey, it has been said.

Arg had been filming in Thailand in recent weeks along with fellow contestants including former Love Island star Montana Brown, and The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran, but all three celebrities have been forced to pull out of the show after sustaining horror injuries.

Former footballer Jermaine Pennant and Paralympic cyclist Jon-Allan Butterworth are also reportedly out of the show after sustaining injuries and passing out during one of the toughest challenges the show has ever seen since it's formation back in 2015.

Rugby star Gareth Thomas also faced faced agony when he pulled a hamstring muscle, with doctors insisting that he could no longer carry on in the series.

Lifting the lid on Arg's injuries, a source told The Sun that the TOWIE star has jungle rot and trench foot.

Trench foot - a painful condition of the feet - is caused by long immersion in cold water or mud and marked by blackening and death of surface tissue.

Arg is also suffering from jungle rot - which is a tropical ulcer and a chronic ulcerative skin lesion thought to be caused by polymicrobial infection with a variety of microorganisms, including mycobacteria.

James now runs the risk of 'suffering for months' after contracting the conditions.

“James’s issues with his feet were awful. He was in agony as the infection took hold because of the wet boots and he could suffer for months now," the insider told The Sun.

The Thailand series of Celebrity SAS is due to wrap filming in the next couple of weeks and the hotly-anticipated series will air on Channel 4 next year.

The Mirror has reached out to a spokesperson and James's representatives for comment on this story.
