James and Ola Jordan were asked to drop their weight to a "healthier size" if they wanted medical treatment.
The couple shared a snap of themselves poolside several months ago but admitted they were horrified to discover they had developed "mum and dad bodies." The weight gain comes after they welcomed their first child, Ella, back in 2020 during the pandemic.
Following an unhappy response, the lifelong dancers shed the weight by getting back into the studio and following a rigorous health programme. James and Ola shot to fame as professionals on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, joining simultaneously in 2006 before calling it quits in 2013 and 2015 respectively.

The fitness overhaul wasn't purely for aesthetic reasons as their doctor suggested if they wanted to continue on the path of parenthood they would need to do something about their size.
Speaking to Lorraine on their fitness journey, James revealed that their doctor told them it would be in their best interest to shed some pounds if they want to continue with IVF treatment.
He said: "We went to an IVF clinic, Ella is an IVF baby, and we were actually told if we wanted to conceive again it's going to help us a lot if we're both thinner." Ola chimed in to suggest the term "healthier size" before James revealed they were both classed as medically obese.
A flustered Lorraine couldn't believe the comment as James added: "Seriously. You might look at us and think, 'They're not obese,' but [Ola] is what 5ft 3in and she was nearly 12 stone which isn't really heavy but we were both in the obese category."
James and Ola conceived their Ella through IVF treatments and considered themselves "very lucky" for managing it the first time around.
