Jamal Edwards left his mother, Brenda, shedding tears of joy when he made a rare appearance on Loose Women to wish her a happy Mother’s Day.
The SB TV creator, who sadly passed away on Sunday at the age of 31, featured on the ITV show back in 2019 when the children of the panel appeared on screens to give surprise messages to their mothers.
Brenda, who has been a Loose Women panelist since February 2019, was astonished when her son was included in a video montage which also saw the children of Andrea McLean, Stacey Solomon and Denise Welch share messages.
Footage showed Jamal singing “Happy Mother’s day” before he shared a touching tribute to his mum.
He said: "Big up my mum on the Mother's Day today. One of the most positive energies I’ve ever come across in my life.
"Even though she been through so much in her life she still manages to smile and bring joy to most rooms."
So Happy Mother’s Day.
Brenda could be seen reacting to her son’s video message at the time looking in absolute shock and disbelief.
She smiled warmly as her son showered her with praise.
Brenda was then asked by Andrea what she planned to do on Mother’s Day that coming weekend.
Wiping away happy tears, she said: “The thing with me with Mother’s Day, for obvious reasons, I just like it when the kids are around. I’m happy with that. Thank you!”
On Monday, Brenda shared her devastation over the death of Jamal.
In a statement that was read out on Good Morning Britain, the former X Factor singer said: "It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness.
“Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.
"As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.
"Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."
Businessman Jamal had launched the music company SB TV back in 2006 and helped launch the careers of Ed Sheeran and Jessie J.
In one of his final Instagram posts, Jamal paid tribute to Ed on his birthday.
He wrote: "Happy Birthday to the OG, Ed. Blessed to have you in my life brother. You know you've been mates a long time when you lose count on the years! Keep smashing it & inspiring us all G!"
Heartbroken fans have been flocking to the final Instagram post made by the trailblazer, who was also credited for his charitable services and for founding a series of London youth clubs in 2020.
One Instagram fan wrote: "Thank you for everything you have done for all of us. You will be missed. Rest in perfect peace."
