Holly Willoughby appeared emotional as she shared Brenda Edwards' tribute to her son and music pioneer Jamal Edwards MBE, who has tragically died aged 31.
The 41-year-old sent her condolences to his family as she appeared on the ITV show.
Jamal, who was the son of Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, launched his impressive entrepreneurial career after his mum bought him a £200 camera for Christmas.
He inspired a generation after launching the careers of a number of music artists, with his pioneering work in the music industry leading him to become friends with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Will.i.am, Professor Green and Rio Ferdinand.
Speaking about the sad news on This Morning, Holly said: "An incredible, short-lived life which seemed to fit so much in and seemed to touch so many other people's lives."
She went on to read out Brenda's heartbreaking tribute, which read: "It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world," it read.
She continued: "As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many.
"Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."
Her colleague Denise Welch was one of the hundreds to mourn Jamal's passing on Sunday, taking to Twitter to write: "My heart aches for my friend Brenda. I can’t bear it. Jamal Edwards was a wonderful son and brother."
Jamal, who grew up on an estate in Acton, West London, received the camera from his mum when he was just 15.
At a time when YouTube was just launching, he decided to upload a clip of foxes in his back garden and he was soon amazed to discover the footage had received over 1,000 views.
He quickly understood that it could be a platform to success for him and decided to film a pal from his estate performing grime music.
Speaking to MailOnline in 2013, Jamal said: "Back then, there was no place to showcase our sort of spitting and rapping, so I thought, OK, I want to create that platform."
Under his own rap moniker Smokey Barz, Jamal set up the SB:TV channel.
While his channel eventually led to him becoming a pioneer in the industry, his efforts were far from an overnight success.
He was made to take a job in Topman by his mother and had to try to forge his career in the music industry in his spare time.
Jamal's big break came three years later after he was able to secure an interview with his first star outside of the grime world - Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland.
After that, he went on to interview other big names, such as Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz.
