Jamal Edwards 'got his mojo back' with the help of Rio Ferdinand weeks before his death

Jamal Edwards said that he had finally got his 'mojo back' this month after an uninspired January just days before his sudden death.

The 31-year-old music producer tragically passed away on Sunday, with his mum, Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, confirming that he passed away after a 'sudden illness'.

The news of Jamal's death has shocked and saddened some of the biggest music stars in the industry, and just days before his passing, Jamal had shared an inspiring post claiming that he'd finally found his mojo again after an uncomfortable couple of weeks.

Jamal's close friend, Rio Ferdinand, took to Instagram on Monday to pay tribute to the SBTV founder with a heartbreaking post.

Rio, 43, detailed how he had met with Jamal just a number of weeks ago, and the talented music producer told the former football legend that he had huge plans for the year ahead after experiencing an uninspiring month in January.

Alongside a snap of the devastated footballer and his late friend, Rio penned: "Only a couple of weeks ago, you took me for lunch and we were making plans together.

"Inspiring, clean-hearted, and a truly unselfish guy. Rest easy," he added.

Rio shared one of Jamal's last Instagram posts where he admitted that he had found his mojo again.

In the caption, the late music producer penned: "Gonna be real with you, the first few weeks of January was probably the most productive I've had in a while but towards the end of the month I don't know what happened, can’t put my finger on it but I felt really uninspired - hence being so quiet on here.

"I’m a big believer in not faking things, not forcing them when it doesn’t feel right and I didn’t want to come on here talking about the stuff I normally do when I wasn’t really feeling it.

"Anyway, today was a good day, got man like @rioferdy5 to Acton at @tikibar15 and had a very inspiring catch up over some good food, feeling so energised and ready to get back on track. Sometimes you need a lil break or chat to get that mojo back, trust me."

Jamal, who was credited with helping launch the careers of stars like Jessie J and Dave, was the eldest of Loose Women's Benda's two children.

Thanks to his impressive achievements and career, Jamal was appointed an MBE for services to music in 2014.

The late star was also an ambassador for the Prince's Trust, a youth charity run by the Prince of Wales which helps young people set up their own companies.

Jamal's devastated mum confirmed that her much-loved son died from a 'sudden illness' on Sunday.

"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness," Brenda penned.

"Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.

"As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.

"Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives On Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."

Tributes have been pouring in for the 31-year-old since the sad news of his death was confirmed on Sunday.
