Jamal Edwards: Chelsea fans to pay tribute to late music entrepreneur during Champions League game with Lille

There will be an applause held in the 31st minute of Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Lille on Tuesday evening following the passing of Jamal Edwards, the club’s supporters’ trust have announced.

A lifelong Chelsea supporter, the British music entrepreneur died earlier this week and the club themselves paid tribute to Edwards as an “inspiration to many”.

Born in Luton but having grown up in Acton, west London, the 31-year-old was a noted supporter of Chelsea and there will be a tribute to him in the stands at Stamford Bridge this evening.

John Terry, Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah are among the many people connected with the club to have sent tributes following Edwards’ sudden death.

The founder of SBTV, a youth broadcasting and production film channel that has helped launch a number of stellar careers, Edwards was awarded an MBE in 2014 for his services to music through his business.
