Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew made light Tuesday of the NFL Players Association’s recent report of a rat infestation inside the franchise’s facilities.
The NFLPA recently surveyed 1,300 players regarding eight categories: facilities, nutrition, weight room, strength staff, training room, training staff, locker room and travel. Out of all 32 teams in the report, Jacksonville ranked 28th.
However, regarding the cleanliness of the locker room, Jacksonville earned a D-minus. Players reported that for three to four weeks during the 2022 season, there were rats in the team’s locker room and laundry hampers, per the report.
On Tuesday, Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs tweeted at Agnew, asking him “Damn @jamalagnew y’all was taking showers with rats?”
Agnew gave a rather surprising response to Diggs tweet.
“They were emotional support mice, this headline misleading,” Agnew tweeted.
While the Jaguars seek to build on a strong ’22 campaign next season, eradicating the rats for good probably should also be a priority.
