A man who won $158.4m in the Jamaican lottery wore the iconic “Scream” mask to hide his identity while collecting his winnings.
The winner, named only as A Campbell, was pictured holding his novelty outsized cheque in the black-and-white mask, made famous by the horror film franchise.
Mr Campbell told reporters he still had not recovered from finding out he had won the jackpot, which is the equivalent of £910,000.
“I’m kinda OK, I’m just a bit numb, a little bit,” he said when asked if he was still feeling unwell, the Jamaica Star reported.
To buy a ticket in the lottery costs just £1.15.
Mr Campbell waited 54 days before coming forward to collect his winnings, but said he already had big plans for the money.
“I want to get a nice house. I haven’t found it yet, but I’ll be looking for one soon. I have a little business, so I plan to make it bigger, buy an apartment.”
Mr Campbell is not the first lottery winner to turn up to the cheque presentation ceremony in a costume to protect their identity.
Last summer, a woman called N Gray wore a winking yellow emoji mask while collecting her own $180m (£1.03m) winnings in Jamaica.
She told reporters she did not intend to quit her job despite receiving the life-changing windfall.
Many people fear the consequences of being named as the winner of massive sums of money.
Last year, a woman who won $559m (£433m) in a New Hampshire lottery refused to collect her enormous winnings unless the organisers promised to keep her anonymous.
After the lottery said it would not do so, she launched a lawsuit in an effort to force them to protect her identity, eventually winning the right to withhold her name, according to US reports.
