Jamaal Lascelles has praised Newcastle United’s owners for their sensible work in the transfer window.
The Toon skipper knows that many people drew comparisons with Man City’s takeover when Mike Ashley sold the club to PIF last year.
But insists Newcastle aren’t operating like an organisation simply throwing money around as suggested by some observers.

Lascelles said: "Yeah. As sportsmen we know there is always going to be things said and people have jobs to do.
"We understand that but at the same time there have been teams that have spent millions, I won't name teams. But if you don't have that work ethic and togetherness it doesn't matter how much money you spend.
"It is about players playing for the manager and having leaders in the team. We've got all that and that's why we are where we are."
After the club signed stars like Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier, Lascelles feels the Magpies are heading in the right direction.
Lascelles said: "100%. People might just say we are throwing money about but I think we have been spot on the way we have done it.
"We have not just gone out and made crazy signings or super signings. We have picked up good people and good leaders. So all these little factors have got us where we are. So I think we've got it right."
