Jalen Hurts won’t play for Eagles versus Cowboys in Week 17

The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out starting quarterback Jalen Hurts for Sunday’s game with the Dallas Cowboys.

Hurts is in concussion protocol and won’t be ready to play.

Kenny Pickett will replace Hurts for the NFC East leaders.

Per ESPN.com:

“[Hurts] is still in the protocol. It’s going to be tough for him to make it this week,” Sirianni said Friday prior to the quarterback being officially ruled out.

A.J. Brown praised Pickett.

“He’s done a great job. He did a great job last week. I know he had a few hiccups, but overall he’s doing a great job. It’s not his first rodeo. We have a lot of confidence in him, I do, and I’m excited,” Brown said of Pickett on Friday.

“(He’s) poised, confident. He comes in; he’s commanding the huddle, and that’s what you want to see.”

Dallss will be without star wideout CeeDee Lamb, who is done for the season with a right shoulder injury.
