Jalen Hurts Showed Zero Emotion As Eagles Hit 60-yard FG to Set Up OT Win

The Eagles’ thrilling 34–31 overtime win over the Bills may have been one of Week 12’s most exciting games, but the dramatics didn’t appear to have any effect on a locked-in Jalen Hurts during crunch time.

With Philadelphia trailing 31–28 with 20 seconds left in regulation, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott drilled a rain-soaked 59-yard field goal to even the score. As the home crowd went into a frenzy over Elliott’s heroics, CBS cameras captured a shot of a focused Hurts, trying his best to stay warm on the bench, watching the play unfold.

Given the situation, no one likely would’ve faulted the Eagles quarterback for showing a little emotion. But in this case, all Hurts could do was sport an emotionless look on his face and shake his head as he prepared to go win the game. And that’s exactly what he did.

As fate would have it, Hurts’s hilariously stone-cold gaze served as the perfect precursor to the 25-year-old demonstrating the ice in his veins on Philly’s first OT drive.

A Bills field goal gave the club a 34–31 lead, but nine plays and 75 yards later, it would be the Eagles that emerged victorious after Hurts rushed in a 12-yard walk-off touchdown for the win and his fifth (!) of the day.

Outside of his viral reaction, Hurts’s afternoon saw the fourth-year pro shake off some first-half woes to turn in another standout performance. He completed 4-of-11 passes for 33 yards, to go with seven carries for 22 yards and one TD in the first half before tallying a 14-of-20 stat line for 167 yards, along with 43 yards on seven carries, and three total TDs.

With the Eagles (10–1) flying high into Week 13, big efforts like Sunday’s figure to provide a big boost to the team and Hurts as he continues to forge his legacy in the City of Brotherly Love.
