The Tennessee Titans made a roster move on Tuesday, with the team parting ways with defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson, who appeared in six games for the team, spending time on both the practice squad and active roster.
But Johnson didn’t go quietly. After being waived, the veteran lineman fired off a pair of tweets voicing his frustration with the situation in Tennessee (H/T @zandermercury on X).
“They so worried about [trying] to fix the defense when we’re not the problem,” Johnson tweeted. “[Expletive] put the tape on and watch.”
Then, without saying his name specifically, Johnson noted how lucky former Titans safety Kevin Byard was to get traded from Tennessee to the 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles.
“Going from a team (like the Titans) to a 9-1 team has gotta be the greatest feeling in the world,” he wrote.
Johnson has since deleted the tweets but we do have the screenshots.

Can’t say that Johnson is wrong in either of his tweets. Of course, it isn’t exactly ideal for a player to be publicly airing his frustration like this, but Johnson mostly hits the nail on the head.
Yes, there are several issues with the defense and it has not been good, but it’s still only giving up 21.4 points per contest, which is certainly not great but good enough to win more than the Titans have.
The bigger issue is the offense, which has managed just 16.8 per.
The Byard tweet speaks for itself. I’m sure it wasn’t easy leaving the only team he’s ever known, but the veteran safety has to be at least somewhat relieved he’s no longer part of this mess in Nashville.
